Hi Sentley, John, Don and Andy

My take is that she is a 45ft Admiralty FMB (Fast Motor Boat) like Madonna (built by JS White) which we saw for sale a month or two ago. I don't think she came from the same yard as it looks as though the outer planking run is with the bow, rather than against as per JS White built boats.

Rgds, Christian.

Further to the above and other post with e-bay reference, well, the above is the boat I know but not the one on e-bay! its in Wales for a start and ashore in a sorry state, having been attacked by vandals including arson, fair play to the owner who tells people that on the entry, interesting construction.

"Runaway" is an Admiralty 45ft FMB(Fast Motor boat). There were some 58 of these built between

1936 & 1945.

Some were built as 45ft FMB & Barge, others as 45ft Picket Boats, others as 45ft Seagoing Motor Boats and finally some as 45ft Hospital Launches and Fire Boats.

They were two and three engined boats originally, some were used as VIP Boats and Admirals barges and were carried on battleships.

the general arrangement of the 45ft Fast Sea Going Motorboat, though of course none of your cabins may have been original.

These boats were built in two batches 1940/41 & 1943/4 by J.S White at Cowes

This is what ive been told about my boat that i have just rescued do you know if ive done the right thing or not

I have got her for sale on ebay in the hope some one will be able to hell her back to glory

Do you know of any organisation that might be interested in her

Best regards
